Mui Ne Travel Guide

Mui Ne means "sheltered peninsula", and this beach town more than lives up to the name.  With golden sand beaches, rows of coconut palms and clear blue water, Mui Ne is Vietnam's answer to Hawaii; it's one of the country's top destinations for water sports like surfing and kitesurfing. Relax at one of Mui Ne's many resorts, or rent a motorbike to check out photogenic sand dunes and ancient Cham buildings.

Don’t expect a sleepy fishing village. Recent development turned this quiet town into a bustling resort city. But the postcard-perfect beaches offer plenty of opportunities for relaxation.

Top Mui Ne Attractions:

The Lying Buddha / Ta Cu Mountain Tour
This is one of the longest ‘lying’ Buddha’s in Asia, measuring 49metres long! It is also known as “the Buddha joining into Nirvana” and was sculptured on Ta Cu Mountain in 1962. A cable car takes you up to the cultural complex of Linh Son Long Doan and Linh Son Truong Pagodas, both of which were built in the late 19th century. This trip has spectacular views over the salt pans, lakes, rice paddies and even Khe Ga beaches, as well as inland views to the mountains of Binh Thuan province. It is situated approximately 40 minutes by car from Mia Resort and is well worth the visit and the climb to the top! Visit the Cham Tower on the way back, as well as dragon fruit plantations.

Sunrise Sand Dunes Tour / Mui Ne fishing village / Fairy Stream
Standing out from the rest of the environment, a trip to the sand dunes and the fishing village of Mui Ne is a fascinating chance to see something very unique and a chance to see some of the real Vietnam, not just the tourist areas. A must see for all who come to Mui Ne, the sand dunes are best visited early in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds later on. We recommend leaving between 4.30am and 5am, especially if you’d like to see the sunrise from the dunes. However, any preferred departure time can be arranged according to your preference. After visiting the white sand dunes, experience life first hand in the working fishing port village. See the beautiful blue boats in the harbour as they dock after a long night on the waters. You will also visit the Red Sand Dunes, Red Canyon and Fairy Stream.
